Lawn care and landscaping

A sprinkler system can only water the lawn you have. We build and keep healthy turf with fertilization and weed control, dethatching and seeding, and keep the whole property clean and sharp through the season.

Lawn and property care

Fertilization and weed control
Treatments timed to the season so the lawn greens up in spring and holds through August.
Dethatching and seeding
Thatch removed and new seed put down in spring or fall, with the sprinkler heads marked so nothing gets damaged.
Seasonal maintenance
Clean cut lines, sharp edges and tidy beds, all season long.
Landscape installs
New beds, plantings and lawn areas, often with the irrigation and lighting done at the same time.
Drainage
Drain lines and drainage systems for wet spots and water heading toward the house.

One crew for the whole yard

When the same crew handles the lawn, the irrigation and the lighting, nothing works against anything else. Seed gets the water it needs, aeration does not take out a sprinkler head, and new plantings get a drip line the day they go in.

How it works

  1. Walk the lawn

We look at the turf, the soil and the watering.

  2. Plan the season

Fertilization, weed control and seeding timed to the year.

  3. Do the work

    Treatments and maintenance on schedule.

  4. Adjust

Watering and treatments change with the weather and the lawn.

Questions about lawn care and landscaping

When is the best time to seed a lawn on Long Island?

Late summer into early fall is best, with spring second. Cool-season grasses germinate well in the warm soil and cool nights of September.

Do I need to adjust my sprinklers after seeding?

Yes. New seed needs short, frequent watering until it is established. We set the controller for it.
