Lawn sprinkler and irrigation systems

We design and install sprinkler systems that put water on the lawn and the plantings, and keep it off the house, the driveway and the walk. Every system is zoned by head type and what it waters, and can run on a smart controller you work from your phone.

What we install

New sprinkler systems
Rotors for open lawn, spray heads for tight spaces, and the right nozzles for each, laid out head to head so the whole lawn gets covered.
Smart Wi-Fi controllers
Hunter Hydrawise controllers adjust watering to local weather. Add a Solar Sync sensor, which is EPA WaterSense labeled, and run times track the sun and temperature on their own.
Flow meters
A flow meter on the main line notices when a zone uses more water than it should and alerts you, so a broken pipe or stuck valve gets fixed instead of running all week.
Drip and micro drip
Netafim drip tubing for beds, hedges and new plantings, and micro drip for pots and hanging baskets. Water goes to the roots instead of the leaves and the walkway.
Pool auto-fill lines
A line that tops off the pool on its own, so you are not dragging a hose across the patio every week.
Dock, bulkhead and outdoor shower lines
Water run out to the dock for boats and water sports, and supply lines for outdoor showers and foot washes.

Why the zones matter

One of the most common mistakes we see is a system zoned by location: front yard, back yard, side yard. A rotor and a spray head put down water at very different rates, so when they share a zone, one area floods while the other dries out.

We zone by head type and by what is being watered: lawn rotors together, bed sprays together, drip on its own, and sunny and shaded areas apart. We are called in often to re-map systems that were zoned the other way.

Water where it should go, and nowhere else

An irrigation system that sprays the house every night does real damage. Water against a foundation invites termites and rot, and wet siding, walkways and driveways wear out early. Repairs can cost more than the sprinkler system did.

We keep heads, arcs and run times tight to the planting beds and the lawn, and we plan for later: extra fittings and sleeves under new hardscape go in now, so adding a zone in a few years does not mean digging up the yard.

Parts we trust

We are Hunter certified and build most systems on Hunter heads, valves and Hydrawise controllers. We also use Netafim drip tubing, Oil Creek polyethylene pipe and Irritrol parts from Toro where they are the better fit.

How it works

  1. Walk the property

We look at the lawn, the beds, the sun and the slope, and check the water supply you have to work with.

  2. Design the zones

Rotors, sprays and drip each get their own zones, sized to the water supply, with room to add more later.

  3. Install

Pipe is pulled or trenched in with as little lawn damage as possible, valves go in boxes, and the controller and sensor get wired.

  4. Test and teach

We run every zone, adjust every head, set the schedule and show you how to run it, at the controller or from the app.

  5. Check back

We come back to make sure everything works as designed. Every installation has a full one-year guarantee.

What clients say

I highly recommend wi-fi managed irrigation on the South Fork!! I easily control on my cell when, where and which sprinklers go on. My southern facing lawn no longer gets burnt in August and my north facing lawn no longer turns muddy in spring. Chris and team are terrific!
Deborah Millstein, Google review · South Fork
He also made sure my system was future-proofed so if I ever wanted to expand it, we wouldn’t have to dig it up … I wish I called him first!
Bob McInnis, Google review
SS was not only able to install my system in two days but also revamped our lawn with dethatching, seed, fertilizer and clean up within that time.

Questions about irrigation systems

How much does a sprinkler system cost?

It depends on the size of the property, how many zones it needs, how much is lawn versus beds, and what water supply you have. We walk the property and give you a written estimate at no charge.

How long does an installation take?

It depends on the size of the property and the system. Drip, pool fill and dock lines add time, and we set the install dates with you up front.

Can you take over a system someone else installed?

Yes. We repair, upgrade and re-zone systems we did not install, and we can add a smart controller to most existing systems.

Can I run the sprinklers from my phone?

Yes. Hunter Hydrawise controllers have an app that lets you run, pause and adjust any zone from anywhere.
